Quick answer
For EZGO TXT models built from 1996 to 2013, choose the EZGO TXT Street Legal All LED Light Kit (1996-2013). For TXT Valor models made from 2014 to 2021, pick the EZGO TXT Valor Street-Legal All LED Light Kit (2014-2021). Both are Instamatic® kits that include everything needed for street-legal operation.
Why the model year matters
EZGO changed the TXT body style in 2014, introducing the Valor front end. The headlight housings, steering column cover, and wiring routing are different between the two generations. Using the wrong kit means the lights won't mount correctly and the included steering column cover may not fit.
What each kit includes (and doesn't)
Both kits include LED headlights with integrated amber marker/turn signals, LED tail lights with turn signals, a wiring harness, turn signal assembly, push/pull switch, mechanical brake switch, horn, and steering column cover. The 1996-2013 kit also includes light cut-out templates for precise installation. The 2014-2021 kit includes light templates but note that if your Valor has factory headlight cutouts, you may not need them.
Decision rules
- Identify your cart's model year: Check the manufacturer's code on the frame near the driver-side seat support or look at the serial number. EZGO TXT models from 1996 to 2013 have a round front body. TXT Valor models (2014-2021) have a sharper, more angular front end. If you have a round-front TXT from 1996-2013, use kit 2723681. If you have a Valor 2014-2021, use kit 2723685.
- Verify your cart's voltage: Both kits operate on 12V to 48V systems without a voltage reducer. If your cart runs 48V, you're covered. If it's 12V, also fine.
- Check for existing headlight cutouts: The 2014-2021 kit includes light templates. If your Valor already has factory cutouts, you can skip the template step. The 1996-2013 kit always includes templates because most older TXTs lack pre-cut holes. If your 1996-2013 TXT has no headlight holes, the templates are essential for a clean install.
